Hello Everyone, do you have any knowledge on Perception? Can you please provide the details regarding this? I am actually working with color image processing and am unable to get the perception of colors of mixed pixels. Can you please guide me for this. Thank You.
Perception in the context of computer vision can be broken down generally into two major steps. First comes the process of classifying the color information into specific classes of objects of interest that are specific to the environment then using the classified pixels in another algorithm and group them together into the different classes of objects you are trying to detect.
It is very important to consider the shape/structure of the data structure you are going to use depending on the setup of your camera. Needless to say, data structures in CV applications are very useful specifically for organizing the order in which you iterate through the pixels in such a way that would make sense to both the environment you are processing and the setup of the camera in that environment. Another reason is also speedup which comes at the price of precision but with a good color classification algorithm you can gain lots of speedup by reducing the number of pixels you are iterating through without a major trade off in precision.

I have just published a paper on perception which takes the standpoint that perception is not validly reflecting the physical world but this is exactly the strength of our perceptual system as it always interprets, reconstructs and constructs reality. And this is exactly what we need in a very dynamic and ambiguous world.
