Dear Dr. Nizar Matar, thank you for liking and following this question. Actually it is a religious question. As the RG has the options of History of religion, religion and anthropology, philosophy of religion, religion and culture, religion studies etc. so I have asked this question to religious (all religions) persons, students, teachers, researchers to know their views about this matter. I want to know what religions say about our life, fate of our life, why some show better activities why some are bad etc. I have a little knowledge on this aspect. I am expecting some detail studies on this matter. I think there are many research personnel on religious studies in RG. It will be my great opportunity to share knowledge with you and others on this matter.

I think that your question is a very important one. It is related to the essence of our temporary existence in this life; from where we came ? why we are here ? where are we going? Answers to these 3 basic questions form the doctrine or the dogma or the principle upon which our systems & ways of life are established. Since you & I do not differ in our (AQEEDA), then let us see if other scholars enter & contribute here. My regards.

So that we care of others rights, we do our duties to human and other  creations on the earth as well and also we do our duties to God/Allah (Subhanahu-Oa-Ta'la).

As a person researching in science, I know your question has been in existence for long. There is no need for me to share my scientific view of life, but I am neither religious. As an individual of the humankind, I know that life can be for many purposes, depending on who is answering this question. My answer is to find the way that can lead you to piece and happiness in the course of gaining and giving with effort.

Our is meant for purpose, one of which is to have impact in lives and to be our neighbours keeper

For me the priority goes like humanity, honored to service them in any possible ways then science....we shouldn't lost ourself emotionally in science....Science relates but emotion connects...we should be very careful about our thought process no matter whether it is science or society because sometimes our thought reflected in our actions.....We may be master or doctor of our work expertise/experience  but we should admit in someway that we are  slave of our emotion.....when we are dealing with science we should use our mind not heart but we have to use our heart while dealing with society....so heart and mind should function independently varying with situations....i believe controlling emotions could solve many issues whether it is science/society......But i like the question asked " What is our life for? "......

Depends on who you ask. You might be interested in the works of philosophers like Pascal (Pensees is recommended), Nietzche, Kant, or Sartre; for an existentialist take. Or look into essentialists like Plato (I'm not well read in essentialism).

Ultimately- being human- you're in the unique position to create your own purpose, I think.

I also think that Good and bad are relative. But why we say, "It is good or we should not do that".

Dear @ Akash Ratnayaka, thank you for your nice view. You say that being human- we're in the unique position to create our own purpose, I also think that. But listen to my fate--I wanted to be a Human doctor by heart and I have tried hard for that. But now, I am an agricultural researcher. I failed to create my own purpose. Is there something controlling our purpose?

Life-like spindle weave This machine that moves back and forth and you can barely follow the movement with your eyes. And be here for one moment and then go and never return. A picture repeated by the psalmist with a phrase similar to the wind "Wind go and never return." Because our days are on the earth, my days are like an oblique shadow. "The shadow is characterized as unreal and stays for a very short time.

Dear Asim Hakim Abbas thanks for your nice answer. You rightly mentioned that we are here on the earth for a short period and then go and never return. Our days on the earth is like an oblique shadow which is characterized as unreal and stays for a very short time.

We should know why we stay here on the earth for a moment and then die and never return here. We should also know why and how our shadow of life will be real.

We as humans have a goal. God lives in all of us and we are required to make of ourselves whatever we wish while giving God the respect He deserves. Not to be personal, but you said that you wanted to be a doctor. Have you ever thought how many more people you have helped by being an agricultural researcher? I believe in the power of food to heal. I also believe that with touch and kindness we heal others-that is the God connection.

For great goals

Very realistic and also tough question. In my view we are on earth for doing our activities as suggestions by Allah and Prophet Mohammad. In addition we have to believe in life after death and for evil works we will get punishment and for good works we will getvreward by Allah.

The Purpose is life in free will without the proof of our eternal source, the connection with the absolute to find our true individuality and cross the border of the paradox of beeing individual AND beeing part of everything (yin and Yang in the same (space-)time)). Than we can really say "...may your will come true" because we found the source of "you" (god) and love.

Simply life is a mystery...
