What is motivation in entrepreneurship and role of entrepreneur in generation of employment opportunities?
An entrepreneur creates lot of employment opportunities for different sections of society. By generating opportunities, the entrepreneur adds to the economic growth. Setting up a new venture leads to creation of new opportunism for labour, supplier of inputs, supplier of industrial equipments, marketing traders’ etc. Motivation in entrepreneurship provides hope and clarity when circumstances become hard and discouraging. Entrepreneurial motivation, then, is fundamental in someone's decision to embark on the journey of creating a business. Motivation is also important to those that entrepreneurs work with and interact with. The entrepreneurial motivation is the process that activates and motivates the entrepreneur to exert higher level of efforts for the achievement of his/her entrepreneurial goals. Entrepreneurs must be self-motivated to convince investors of the practicality of their ideas. The desire and motivation to keep focusing on the tasks and to work hard are the keys to becoming successful entrepreneurs.Entrepreneurial development gives rise to economic independence through self-employment. Creation of tiny, micro and small enterprises by the entrepreneurs can lead to creation of both self- employment and wage- employment opportunities, thereby solving the problem of unemployment in the economy. An entrepreneur plays a key role not only in the development of industrial sector but also in the development of agriculture and service sector of a country. Entrepreneurs provide a large number of employment opportunities to the people to manage their business activities. An entrepreneur performs all roles from owner to lowest level of work and manages all resources while an employee is assigned or given fixed roles and manages only what is defined in assigned role.The government generates employment through direct and indirect efforts. The government makes direct efforts at employing people in various departments for administrative purpose. It runs various enterprises and when they result in an increased output of goods and services, they lead to further increase in employment.
