Usually universities' people pursue the careers of lecturers and researchers at the same time - what is more pleasant and why for You personally? Or, may be, both?
As graduated student of M.Sc i prefer to be a researcher than a lecturer. a researcher always try to find new ways in order to improve the level of knowledge which can determine as an input for a lecturer who teach students. so a researcher is a step forward from lecturer.
A lecturer in universities usually holds a position that covers teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities. I would be more pleasant to be both, a university lecturer and a researcher.
