Steady state is detected by abaqus when a certain norm (you can choose force, torque, plastic equivalent strain) defined on a user defined set of elements (ELSET) does not change much from step to step.

In a rolling process you usually assume completely rigid roller, then using Abaqus/Explicit you make an analysis in which a meshed piece of material is pushed against the roller. When a steady shape is reached, a steady state will be detected.

I have read abaqus documentation, the problem what i am facing is follows: ABAQUS documentation mention that we can give steady state detection only in input file, but i have not seen any explanation about giving in CAE file. I am familiar with working in CAE rather than in input file.

True, some features in Abaqus are only accessible in the input file and not from CAE. In the documentation the syntax should be reported
