The LM concept is continously gaining its relevance in multiple areas from manufacturing to services and so on. Therefore, we can observe the evolution of LM in its definitions given by the experts of different areas.

Lean Manufacturing makes stress on reducing the waste of materials and processes to optimize the resources, so human and materials, to productivity of the organizations.

In a simple sentence, Lean Manufacturing means a method to enhance finished product delivery at optimum time without jeopardizing quality and quantity needed by your customer
Lean manufacturing means to remove excess facilities/inventory from the system to make it lean.
From a High Level it is simply the Reduction of Waste.
Depending on who you speak to there are 7, 8, 9 deadly wastes:
Acronym SWIMTOOT
S - Scrap
W - Waiting
I - Inventory
M - Movement
O - Over Production
O - Over Processing
T - Talent
There are others such as Training, that might also be considered.
Lean Manufacturing is the use of proper technique or method that alleviate the waste or anything that contributes to the slope that makes the production not to run at a desired rate.
