Insanity in science means you will not have to go to Zimbardo’s Stanford prison because you didn’t understand truth from falsity during the research process, so you’re not responsible for your scientific findings. :-) Maybe every scientific discovery and invention that’s by serendipity, like vulcanized rubber, could be said to be “insane.”
