Q&A is for me the best functionality of research gate but lately it is just dum. First the page that suggests questions i might be able to answer comes up with subjects that has nothing to do w my expertise. THe 'ask question' button keeps running away. And the classification of questions are bizarre: A guy that asked about papers about neurology of shame was according to RG ashamed to ask. And how about this question about nationalism:

It has been like this for several months. Unfortunately, ResearchGate has some serious coding issues. For example: I once removed a chapter with four citations by mistake. I reuploaded it two or three months ago and its citations are still at 0. While the citations algorithm for ResearchGate has always been bad, it seems that it updates very, very rarely...
Another issue is the number of fake accounts. I once found a 20+ person with hundreds of books, chapters and articles published. Not only that, but that account had more awards received than the last 40 years worth of nobel-prizes winners. The person co-authors articles with dozens of similar accounts...
I reported this issue and I received a nice reply, thanking me for reporting the situation and regretting how the user must have had some issues with the site, leading to some confusion. People receiving academic honours at age 3 is not a mistake, nor having thousands of publications is an issue.
Since then, I found dozens of such accounts, invariably claiming to be from India or African Countries, which is an interesting trend in on itself.
While I would love the site to get itself together, there's the "you get what you pay for" argument and I really can't complain that much, as even with all these issues, RG is probably the best free scientific sharing network around. Just wish the used the google academic citations finder. Works so much better...
