What is General Mixed Yule-coalescent model? Can anyone explain? and HOW this model perform in phylogenetic analysis?

I found General Mixed Yule-coalescent model was commonly used in phylogenetic analysis and metabarcoding approach. I'd like to know the statistic theory of this model and how this model apply to our data analysis . Thanks in advance. Cheers.
