I'm thinking of a distinction between "I'm having an experience" and "I have experience." Having an experience to me is the awareness of the present moment with multiple senses that may not remain in the conscious memory, but will somehow be incorporated into my very being, maybe in kinesthetic memory. Having experience means that I have conscious memories of participating in certain activities in which I learned from my mistakes and the guidance of others. If I have a great deal of experience, it may mean that I've done it enough times that I feel confident enough to perform tasks very smoothly and even teach them to others. At that point, it doesn't only require the conscious memories I have, but the physical habits of doing the same tasks repeatedly.
