PXRD is the abbreviation of powder XRD. In the case of sufficiently fine powder sample the diffraction pattern is not disturbed by orientation or texture artifacts. Thus the data evaluation and interpretation is more simpler because all diffraction peaks are present in the diffractogram and the height (or peak integral) distributions (ratios) are as expected from theory.

PXRD means X-ray diffraction of powder samples consisting randomly oriented plane which gives maximum intensity during measurement as also discussed by Dr. Martens. While XRD simply stands for X-ray diffraction, it may of any type of sample. At the same time GIXRD is used for glancing incident XRD performed for thin films. Most of the part is discussed by Dr. Martens.
XRD Techniques is used to determine the geometry of a crystal or the arrangement of atoms in a molecules.
PXRD is a scientific technique using X-ray, neutron or electron diffraction on powder or monocrystelline samples for structural characterization of materials.
