I hear many irate people saying about co-workers, parents saying about children, colleagues saying about colleagues; authority figures saying about the people being judged; the words---"have you no common sense?"; "why didn't you use your common sense?" and many other detrimental phrases relating to the lack of common sense.
After many years [50+] of seeing the pain this statement has caused to many individuals; I started noting circumstances, situations, statistics and action/reaction of the actors involved. I have been left with many questions such as:
[A] is common sense the same for everybody?
[B] do certain people truly lack common sense?
[C] and most importantly, WHAT IS COMMON SENSE?
I also would like to interject the most important issue to me is EXACTLY WHO IS THE EXPERT ON COMMON SENSE; the person in charge of condemnation of inappropriate usage of common sense? This question truly fits under the Emotion category; as the people being condemned for lack of common sense usually end up on either meds, alcohol or sexual, physical, mental, verbal, financial, emotional abuse victims. They become special education patients because they are deemed mentally challenged.
