Hi, I don't really know what "research wall" really means, but research gate is an original and authentic way of making research and knowledge available to all.
Interesting question. Gate is always meant for entrance/enter. Where wall is a boundary to restrict the entrance. Of course sharing knowledge and educating others is always useful. As per me restrictions should be implemented on certain matters for e.g. before going to publish some novel ideas or applying for patent etc.
Ian provided interesting information that China is blocking Google. Amazing to listen, there must be some reason. Probably Google provide each and everything that you surf. If you use that in a proper way it is useful in such a way you can get all references what not (unless otherwise the articles have subscription in certain cases).
Of course there should be ban/restriction on some useless links that shatter the future of good students.
Research wall is a blog for the showcasing of our findings and it is not an interactive platform where scholars can meet and deliberate on important issues in the academia. Research Gate offers this and many others. It is a wonderful platform where novice researchers can learn from seasoned researchers. It is a great avenue to find answers to perplexing questions that researchers encounter in their research journey. In summary, Research Gate is everything a researcher need to grow and advance the good course of knowledge seeking and sharing.
