Choosing a method for analysing your data depends on (1) your research questions and (2) your theoretical framework. Starting from your data (newspaper articles) you can use a range of different discourse analyses. I'd recommend this article [1] by Ian Parker which maps different types of DA. It'll help make an informed decision about the analytic path you need to follow to answer you research questions.

Re Discursive Psychology: it works a bit better with spoken rather than written discourse, just because the analysis takes into consideration recipients' reactions to speakers' turns. However, there are DP studies that examine written discourse, especially early ones which mix discourse and rhetorical analysis (for instance some of Michael Billig's papers).

I would recommend ethnolinguistic discourse analysis/creating worldviews.

I suggest you to read into Discourse & Society Journal. Your topic is usually dealt with there. Cristical Discourse Analysis, which focuses on Power and Ideology could be a good theoretical/methodological approach for your topic.

i suggest that since you are dealing with women , please select a theories informing gender analysis from femnist perspectives of the media. this will provide insights in discourse analysis. see the male gaze and probably pscho analystical analysis
