Edson, based on my research I have found out that there is no AN indigenous experience with State law. Indigenous groups are highly heterogenous and their experiences with State Law varies quite a lot. Some of them completely reject it (e.g. Tagaeri in Ecuador), others succesfully use it (e.g. the Sami populations in Scandinavia) and others try to use it but are actually harmed by it (many Colombian populations).
The indigenous experience in Australia is disgraceful with 17 times the rate of incarceration to the European invaders... Deaths in custody continue to rise, not fall and life expectancy is almost twenty years less than the average...
