I am currently working on synthesizing carbon nanodots for my undergraduate research project. After the carbonization and cooling steps, the typical protocol suggests centrifugation followed by purification using a dialysis membrane.

However, as an undergraduate student with limited resources, I am unable to access a dialysis membrane, as it is quite expensive. I would be extremely grateful if you could suggest an alternative purification method that does not require dialysis, ideally with a detailed or full protocol I can follow.
