I was thinking to make a PDMS thin film. Is it possible to dissolve non polymerized silicone sealant i.e. Dimethylsiloxane in some solvent? I couldn't find online literature. What is your experience in this regard?
I confirm the previous answer, hexanes, pentane, n-heptane could be useful. In general, you can find a suitable solvent for a polymer on the basis of the Hildebrand solubility coefficient.
The Hildebrand-Scatchard equation suggests that solvents with a coefficient similar to that of PDMS (7.3 cal1/2 cm-3/2) will swell PDMS effectively.
If it is non-polymerized siloxane than you may try xylene or toluene. In sealant you may have other materials like silica, crosslinker etc, hence select solvent apropriatly.
