Hello everyone,

I have recently observed that isonicotinamide (pyridine-4-carboxamide) and nicotinamide (pyridine-3-carboxamide) collect at different electrode when a strong electric field is imposed in a pure suspension of each compound. Isonicotinamide collected on the anode and nicotinamide collected on the cathode. According to this, isonicotinamide and nicotinamide would be positively and negatively charged, although the net charge is zero.

Is it possible to measure the charge of this type of molecules somehow? If so, what do you think is the best way to prove that they are charged?

Thanks.
