I am doing immunofluorescence staining of sperm cells to look at a membrane protein. I want to find a cell membrane marker to show localization of my target protein in the sperm membrane.
Try cell mask. It's like a dye that labels the cell membrane. (Something off this kind works good for me- https://www.thermofisher.com/order/catalog/product/C37608#/C37608)
So basically just put the cells in this dye and the membrane would get stained easily. Also these are available in different colors. And you could do live as well as fixed cell experiments with it.
A great list of plasma membrane stains can be found at: https://www.thermofisher.com/au/en/home/life-science/cell-analysis/cell-structure/plasma-membrane.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhbLw0qC-8AIVRDVyCh0glgFpEAAYASAAEgIBgPD_BwE&ef_id=EAIaIQobChMIhbLw0qC-8AIVRDVyCh0glgFpEAAYASAAEgIBgPD_BwE:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!3652!3!355202100909!p!!g!!plasma%20membrane%20staining&cid=bid_pca_iva_r01_co_cp1359_pjt0000_bid00000_0se_gaw_nt_pur_con
