I am doing ICV injections on P0 mice and am looking for recommendations for what marker to get to use to mark the injection site. I am hesitant to use sharpie because I am not sure if it is non-toxic and whether the strong smell would stress out the mom's more.
Also if anyone has any recommendations for a marker as a replacement for tattooing mice that would be good too! I have been using tattoo on the mice tail but am finding it very difficult to actually see the tattoo after about a week. My mice vary in colors and can be white, black, agouti as well.
The marker and its smell adds stress to the animal and can make it more aggressive your mice.
