23 February 2014 15 8K Report

Global warming and international seed/seedlings trade give good chance for seed-transferred pathogens to establish populations in regions, previously clean of them. Should we wait until Global "harmonization" of plant pathogen populations or we can take some preventive unpopular measures like updating local Plant Quarantine Lists? or it is better to arrange co-operation with Global Seed Producers and take a look at their seed production areas? Just some thoughts caused by 10 -folds increased Dickeya occurrence in Russian potato seeds since 2009.
