What if I take any other standard of wear testing specimen dimension, is there will be any difference in the wear property or any standard I can take for testing?

ASTM G99-04 is the standard for pin Fisk sliding wear test. You can use other dimension sample by keeping in mind that for the shake of compairasion you have to keep the cross-sectional area constant. When you are calculating the wear loss by mm3/revolution, wear behaviour of the meterial highly depends on the apparent area of contact. Therefore, to compare you test result you must keep cross-sectional area constant.

Pin on disk or surfaces usually use this standard, where ball on cylinder or 4 ball wear tests use other standards. you should keep in mind the contact load you are using and the speed with respect to other parameters to be able to compare to a specific standard. I think wear carries so many variables and optimization techniques are inevitable in order to understand all parameters and compare them to the standard you are using.
