I think that the thrombocytopenia in Dengue and subsequent increase of thrombocytoyesis in Bone Morrow are not different from other thromocytopenias with different etiology. However, despite the many articles published, there is agreement that platelet indices, usually are not clinically usefull. That because MPV as well as PDW and other platelets indices are influenced by numerous pre analytical and analytical factors ( anticoagulant type, anticoagulant concentration, delay between sampling and counting; others, including platelet morphology; counting methodology and technology).
