In general, when adsorbent materials are chemically modified we use distilled water to wash away the excess chemicals (e.g. after acid/base modifications, to wash away excess acid/base and confirm with achieving constant pH or pH = 7 in solution) and this usually requires a great amount of distilled water to properly clean the material.
What I would like to get comments on are;
1) Is there an advantage of using 'Hot distilled water' over the distilled water which is at room temperature?
2) What are the factors we need to consider about using hot/cold distilled water to wash the materials?
3) Are there any other methods available to improve the efficiency of the cleaning process of materials?

Use of distilled water favors a better dissolution of acids and bases since it doesn't contain high amounts of ions.
Heating distilled water improves its dissolution capacity. However, we have to be aware of the possible release of gases accompanying the evaporation.
No problem of Hot Distilled water it is beneficial because the dissolutionncapacity is directlt proportional to temperature of distilled water But there is point of safety issue hot burns etc.

Ans.-Yes, beneficial with using proper safety measure hand gloves eye protector face shield etd the hand gloves must be long sleeve hot resistance.

Ans. It is depends upon concentration of acid /alkali.
3. Are there any other methods available to improve the efficiency of the cleaning process of materials?
Ans. -Acid and alkali are both using then mixed both the waste and neutral salt formed (pH-7)which can be cleaned by any distilled water.
These hazardous waste acid/alkali can be used for other product like fertilizers. Etc.Only aqueous solutions of these chemicals can go down the drain; solid forms must use other disposal routes (normal trash or pick-up by EHS). Better performance of distilled water for washing will be achieved Since the dissolution increase directly with the increase of temperature
