A role play involving two active participants, one being a practitioner the other being a patient/client (non scripted transfomative learning). Also one passive (sort of) observational, peer based reflective role. This describes a frame work we have used here in F2F and online role-play. I have been unable to find a term to describe it, nor any works discussing it... Does it sound familiar to anyone?

That sort of thing is very common in Drama Education - any average Drama Education text book will have guidelines to scaffold structured improvisation - Boal's work in Forum Theatre could easily be adapted.
I would encourage you to dig into medical education journals. We've been doing human simulations for 30+ years and it is well-published. It raises the authenticity a few notches above role playing and there is a wealth of community knowledge and practices around the use of trained individuals (I do not use the term actor) who portray patients, family members or virtually any member of the health care team. Search for the term standardized patient or contact me.
You might find it useful to use the simple natural model of the ‘triple role construction’ of the atom. Wherein one person plays the Negative changed element, another the Positive charged element and the third the Neutral charged element. May seemed to be too simplistic at first but later on, it gives multiple benefits especially when you switch the roles between the players.
The process is called semiosis and components are C, A, B in context of (CP 5.189).

I think semiosis underpins this kind of framework and is based on it, but does not really name the process. It also sits within transformative learning but this too does not adequate identify the actual process.

Although the letters refer to different things from peircean abduction, try looking for themes you expect out of your conception of triple role play; for instance, by listing the topics you think belong in some normative conception, then watching the video.
Is there room for truth, reality, creativity, power, communication, inquiry, methodology, assertion, tension, knowing, knower, epistemology, mind, etc.?
It is more than possible I am not reading into the message correctly.
I think your offerings are aimed at understanding the creation of story...? I am more concerned with the mundane perhaps. The use of triple role-play within medical education and the value given to the role as the patient.
I really wanted to see if people had documented this well. As John above points out, med. ed. has well documented the use of standardized patients, but I wonder if there is some missed or overlooked value in the role as patient.

You’re right, I am talking about presenting a narrative that involves simulation of three different perspectives in hopes of clarifying meaning.
It’s the case that under certain conditions, there is typically tension between First and Second. For example, you might have experienced that medical education does not value the role of patient enough at the expense of valuation for agent/doctor. If you’re simply concerned with indexing which literature speaks directly on this issue, I can’t help.
However, if you consider the matter of TRIPLE role play, you might find that valuations for Patient cannot be considered without regard to Agent. Since we’re fallible and we have personal agendas, there’s a methodology for negotiating these interactions. This mediation (a sort of dialectic but with emphasis on the real) is to which I am referring.
Simply put, I am suggesting semiosis is a way of making the meaning of “triple role, role-play” clear.
