Through the grinding of glass edges, the glass frit is collected in the water used for the grinding machine. This water is collected and reused for grinding purposes. In order to "clean" the water, a flocculant is needed to improve the settling of the colloidal glass.
Any limits on what you could tolerate in terms of pH or additives, Reuben?
If you treat it like SiO2 then I would say scan the web looking for how silica particles are flocculated. I suspect that moderately low to mid range pH adjustment plus a polycationic material like polyamines or polyDADMAC might do it.
If that is too expensive a treatment scheme then maybe low pH and ferric chloride or alum.
I'm curious what the knowledgeable scientists on this board will suggest as other options.
