My son is fond of video games. He is also fascinated with digital marketing, computers and mobiles. He would like to hear suggestions on what academic field(s) or specialty fit his interests so that he focuses his study on. He's just turned 13 years old. He does not like math by the way!

No Wonder he is interested in the "digital" stuff, we are living in "The Digital Age" if we seek a name for our age. Nowadays, "mobile interface design" and "programming" are really important and interesting fields and it seems that in the future these fields are taking the lead even more. There are online courses and videoes that can give an introduction to the absolute beginners so that they can decide from there where to go next.
In the past twenty years, the video game industry has established itself as a significant contributor to the global entertainment economy. The industry is characterized by not just growth but also a high degree of innovation and dynamics. In addition to consoles, video gaming takes place within interactive networks and on various mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
To break into this competitive field of business, you need at least a year of marketing experience working for an advertising agency. Once you have a year or so of experience under your belt, then it's time to look to video game publishers that have marketing departments. These are going to be the big video game publishers, businesses like Take-Two Interactive, Activision-Blizzard, Ubisoft, and EA.

Muthana Makki Mohammedali as a parent myself, and the way I see it, the problem of not "liking Math" running in the family might be adding to the resistance. I'm was never a big fan of Math myself, but I have managed to inspire two younger brothers and my son to love it. I have grown to like math only as an adult and I'm learning as much as I can nowadays. So always try to detach your son from the non-genetic lack of love for math :)
As for the passion with videogames, how about having him enrol in a small object-oriented programming course or visual programming? He would have the opportunity to develop some games and apps, without the "hardcore" side of math, and might help him to further pursue that path if he really likes it. Being a developer nowadays is much more about logical thinking than about math skills.
