E-learning is spreading widely in educational institutions nowadays allover the word but E-learning faces challenges when implemented in higher educational institutions in developing countries? What strategies can the teacher adopt to ensure students' participation and engagement?
Designing an effective and efficient e-learning course is a tall order. It requires creative writing skills, full mastery of the subject, didactic talent and a lot of repetitive loops in the inter-active text. Automatic self-testing units (to learn the basic stuff), a lot of examples and relevant pictures and a profound reference body with working links are essential. The willingness to coach the students through the various learning passages comes on the top of all these labors.
The most important factor is attraction on the bases of visual 3D and maybe stereostopic means. Then -- accessibility, either financial accessibility and to people with disabilities. Look at my project:

I think meeting with the students once or twice a semester will be useful. This will emphasize to the students that the e-course is still a course and will help the teacher emphasize the importance of being disciplined while doing an e-course. If meeting face to face is not possible then there should be a webinar of sorts periodically so that everyone participates and asks questions.
