There are many reasons for that like: the language utilized in places of worship and educational institutions, the educational level of the immigrant, the attitude of the majority towards the language of the minority or to theminority group in its entirety, concentration of the minority population, which if high, leads tomaintenance, geographical proximity and ease of travel to homeland which promote language maintenance if they are high.
