There is plenty of literature available on insulin resistance, however, it only adds to the confusion. I would like to know what the most appropriate method to quantify insulin resistance is.
thickening of the skin is attributed by collagen cross-linking and glycozylation but I suppose it is attributed by glycoseaminoglycans of the dermis and these molecules are responsible to insulin resistance
You can measure AGE (advanced glycation end products) and Maillard reaction of collagen with AGE reader a simple and useful tool for diabetic complications but not for glycosaminoglycans I suppose.
