Users mainly used the e-value as a cutoff to define a Blast "hit".

However depending on what they do this cut-off change From 1e-2 to 1e-30 !

Is there a rule somewhere which defines the cut-off which should be chosen depending on what we want to see?

What e-value are you using as a cut-off in your work?
