I read that the exhaust temperatures measured by thermocouples in an engine doesn't correlate with the mass averaged temperature from the exhaust flow. Assuming something similar happens with compressor exhaust. I wanted to simulate the equilibrium temperature measured from the thermocouple by providing it with a simulated compressor exhaust. My confusion is, though I understand that during the valve open period, the temperature of the flowing gas over the thermocouple is the exhaust gas temperature, what would be the temperature of the gas on the temperature when the discharge valve is not open?
