I submitted a paper to an ACM journal that uses the ScholarOne submission system. The manuscript's status has changed from "Under Review" to "Awaiting Reviewer Scores". What does this change mean?
Without actually asking the ACM journal in question, my guess would be that the reviewers were given a deadline, by which time they had to have completed the review. It sounds like some of the reviewers didn't turn in their results yet, after the deadline date passed. So the results should be imminent. (My anxiety level has just gone up.)

I had the same questions, and found the answers provided here two years ago very helpful: https://academia.stackexchange.com/questions/41052/what-does-awaiting-reviewer-scores-mean-within-the-context-of-a-scholarone-sub/52437
Awaiting reviewers scores simply mean the article is with the reviewers and the journal office is awaiting for the comments.
In addition, under review could be considered by the science editor for technical and English language check or it is with the subject editor and he is evaluating it for external review, or the article is with the reviewer for assessment.
So, "awaiting reviewer scores" is a direct statement that the article is with the reviewers.
