I ran structural equation model in AMOS. I got a message minimization was unsuccesful. Model fit values are really bad. So does it mean model does not fit the data. Is it a result we can report? For example, in regression analysis if R2 etc.is bad ,we report the result in our paper/thesis as "bad fit",so this is a result. I do not seek a good fit, I seek a result to report. So, if minimization was unsucessful can I report my bad model fit values as result? (there is no oppurtunity to modify)
It occurs when a model fits the data very poor or because sample size is too small.
I am sorry but reporting a worthless result leads to a worthless paper which just clogs the pipeline for worthwhile results. If you don't care about good answers to research questions, please don't clog the pipe for those who do. David Booth
