It is not as easy to give an answer to this question as to put it. A rather general answer may be. In the provenance area where the stream sediments have derived from and/or the environment of deposition no alkaline fluid has been operative be it supergene or hypogene in nature. By contrast, kaolinite is indicative of acidic fluids in the environments in question.
Any far-reaching answer would be rather speculative in view of the existing database.
