In my supposedly unhealthy group of mice, Sod2-Sod3-Catalase mRNA levels are decreased in some tissues compared to healthy controls. In addition to those decreases, Nrf2 expression seems elevated as well.
How should I read this data in oxidative stress-wise?
It depends... sometimes differences in the expression of these enzymes means nothing.
You have to check if this "unbalance" in the enzymes expression lead to pronunciated effect in the control of your redox system such as increase of ROS content, redox pairs equilibrium (for example, GSH/GSSG), tissue damage, lipid peroxidation, NO synthesis, etc.
Only after you might be able to do correlations in your model.
Unhealthy group was fed an Atherogenic diet (high cholesterol/fat)... So they were severely obese...

But would you mind me asking how can I check if ROS content and tissue damage is increased?
