For what purpose? Impossible to answer the question as written without knowing what the intended analysis will be and which, if any preservatives have been used.
For example: For DNA or PCR analysis, there are plenty of existing protocols which are designed to reduce DNA degradation. For other types of clinical studies, again, there are many published protocols which describe preferred storage and handling conditions.
"Suitable", again, it would depend on which component I plan to analyze the next day. For whole blood with or without preservatives, perhaps standard refrigeration at 4 degrees Celsius would be adequate for short term storage (< 3days). Serum and plasma samples should be analyzed as soon as possible.
If you have not done so already, you should establish protocols for different blood sample types (i.e. Whole blood, plasma, red cells....). Most professional labs have well defined protocols which must be followed right from sample draw.
Numerous authoritative texts and papers (all freely available) can be found on the web using a keyword search.
The method of preservation will depend on the purpose I. E what you want to use the blood for as to retain the integrity of samples. Refrigeration will be of help at 3-4drgree centigrade. Remember to choose the best method for the purpose in question
