My students receive outstanding exam results at A level. My opinion as a result of around 30 years teaching is that the teacher - student relationship in the class room is the most important factor to student success. Building positive relationships means that students want to come to lessons and enjoy being in the room. Secondly, the teacher needs to know how to get students to top grades. That is done through knowing the curriculum thoroughly and also teaching academic skills well. That means that students are thoroughly prepared for the contents of exam papers.
