I believe that the ethics of the teaching profession is a subject that every teaching must grasp in the best way for the purpose of producing properly educated generations.
The general rules of ethics apply to the teaching profession as well including no quid pro quo, no nepotism, no discrimination against student based on gender, religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality, etc., no dual relationships with students, and so on. An important additional rule is that the teacher should never impose their own personal values or beliefs on students especially because the teacher is dealing with young minds and it is better that morals and other important issues be dealt with rather by parents than teachers to minimize any controversy that may arise. Additionally the teacher serves as a role model and therefore is held to a higher standard than in many other professions.
The teaching profession enjoys respect and trust from the community, which places burdens on the teaching staff and requires the highest degree of idealism in the performance of the profession and a high degree of quality and excellence
The teaching profession is socially responsible. Therefore, compliance with ethical requirements should be an internal conviction that this is the only possible correct behavior.
