Shirshendu Roy Ingrid Del Valle García Carreño At it's best, MOOC's make it possible for anyone to access content that is out of reach for others than the very privileged. A MOOC can even give us access to a time or place that would be out of reach for many reasons. In 2020 I can still see and listen to lectures with for example Carl Rogers or Donald Davidson. At it's best MOOC's can be about sharing and inclusion into education.

At it's worst MOOC's are undermining quality and dialogue between teachers and students. At it's worst it is only about saving money or making money. Learning, meaning and development is preferably something that happens between people. The MOOC needs to be developed and handled with wisdom. It is also important that it is free of charge.

My take here is that when adequate knowledge on Mobile technology reaches the nooks and crannies of the world, Moocs will offer ample opportunities to all categories of learners from basic to post basics and even beyond. Society will be literate in Whole.

I think that is Very good initiative and it represents for me the future of the teaching. We could easily follow what is important to us.

Historically, during agricultural era, one-to-one tutoring was the most prevalent educational practice and learning materials were largely hand-written. During industrial era, schools and classes for groups of learners were established and printed learning materials (thanks to Gutenberg) were necessary to address new challenges. In the current knowledge era, electronic means are required to reach even larger numbers of learners in order to deal with the complexity of the global, digital and knowledge-based world we live in. Thus, MOOC is a necessary response to ever-increasing need for knowledge and the technological development of the present time.
