As a PhD student, I have heard a lot of advice on what skills one needs to develop or acquire to be a good, successful scientist. I also noticed how the quantity of information available increased, and how the quality of this information is not always appropriate. Therefore I chose to work out my ability to sift through an important stack of literature with critical thinking (or at least I hope I did).
Given that I'll have to teach one day, I am now wondering, what would be the main skills I need to develop in science students, in addition to passing on knowledge and information about particular disciplines.
