Surely they should be able to differentiate between erotic fiction and reality? So why do their theories and advice on orgasm suggest that real woman should respond exactly as the female porn stars do?
Sorry but I don't understand your comment. My research focuses on sexual response. Specifically I am questioning why so-called scientists continue to support the idea that a woman can orgasm as the receiver of the thrusting penis. Having a penis thrust into your mouth, anus or vagina is never going to produce an orgasm for the receiver. The receiver provides pleasure for the penetrating male. That is why only men, intent on being the penetrator, pay for sex. Women look for more emotional rewards such as loving companionship and platonic love. This explains why only men talk of sexual pleasure. Women talk of love and romance.

The Biopsychosocial model (BPS) represents a comprehensive paradigm of consolidated practices. Although it has been outlined as the gold standard in sexology, its implementation is often challenging. The sex-positive approach is a ground-breaking movement that is gaining popularity all over and is focused on the recognition of different sexual expressions as valid, consensual, healthy, and meaningful. However, a pragmatic implementation of this approach is still missing.
All research into sexual response has stalled because the findings are so unpopular. Kinsey and Hite were ridiculed and ostracised for publishing their findings. Modern research is incomprehensible to the average person. Researchers cloak their ignorance and lack of funding for robust research in words that no one can understand. This is the political nature of sex where men will only accept what they want to here and women are desperate to have the rewards that men offer - relationship, family and support.
Am in support of your Jane Elizabeth Thomas observations, with respect to the politics and economics of human sexuality. However, I do expect from a serious sexual science approach the understandable link to human health and healthy sexual relationships.
Thanks Stephen for your support. I am basing my conclusions on my own research as well as the findings of Alfred Kinsey and Shere Hite. Both of these researchers concluded that women engage in sex as an emotional bonding mechanism rather than for the erotic rewards that men seek. My research is available for free via Nosper.com. I have spent many years asking women about sex and orgasm. Most women refuse to comment but those who do clearly understand nothing of sexual response. But men, naturally, are happy to fill the void and claim orgasms on women's behalf. If women were having regular orgasm with a lover, then everyone would be able to name female erotic turn-ons and the specific anatomy and stimulation technique involved in achieving those orgasms. The orgasms women are assumed to have with a lover are based on pornography and erotic fiction. They are not supported by any facts, logic or research findings.
Thanks Stephen for your interest in my work. My research is based on the reasonable assumption that if women were having the orgasms men like to think women have, then at least a few would be willing to explain how they achieve them. Women boast about orgasm to make themselves attractive to men but they clearly have no idea about sexual response. They think that orgasm occurs simply because they are the receiver of the thrusting penis. This is the only time that their genitals are stimulated. I have found no women who are interested in eroticism or even masturbation. They focus on the rewards of a loving relationship. Men simply assume that female orgasm occurs. No one talks about female sexual response explicitly or rationally.
Men feel good in response to erotic stimuli. Women look for more emotional rewards. This is because women are not erotically aroused with a lover. No one can name any female erotic turn-ons. But women are obliged to offer sex to a man to keep him tied into the relationship.
Please name some female EROTIC turn-ons that cause female arousal with a lover. A real woman is one who exists in reality - a woman in the population - most of these refuse to comment on sex or orgasm. A female porn star is an actress who acts or fakes the orgasms that men like to think women have. Porn is a male masturbation tool and includes the turn-ons that cause male arousal and male orgasm. These orgasms come from male fantasies and have no scientific backing. There are no research findings to support them.
A sexologist should be a scientist. That means someone who is objective about the topic and willing to challenge the beliefs that are based on sexual ignorance and erotic fiction. That does not currently happen. I am challenging the nonsense that is reported as fact about female sexuality. There are few supporters because the truth doesn't sell. Even researchers have to make money. But research should not be funded on the basis of providing the evidence that intercourse pleasures women. Sex research should be funded as any other science - on the basis of revealing the facts and logic that explain the topic concerned.
