Am I alone in having noticed a paradox? At least in theory more academic journals seem to welcome content involvement from non-academics? Others, for instance industry practitioners, can bring highly valuable insights, information and specifically data to readers. However, with limited exception, our recourse to Institutional Review Boards to approve our human research plans is through our University only. Is it me who is being uncomprehending here or "the authorities"?
