I have been tracking the global status for the last couple of months. The medical workers are at high risk because of exposure. My family and friends who are doctors or working emergency rooms in the United States are extremely careful. If you look at the World Health Organization reporting forms, they have special section for medical workers because they are disproportionately at risk of infection.

With exhaustion, lack of anyone to care for them, I think that medical workers also have higher then expected serious case and death rates.

All you can do is try to get the proper masks and equipment, sanitation supplies. You might try to get dedicated volunteers to constantly monitor the health workers - to remind and help them care for themselves and protect themselves. A good watcher and helper could let the worker devote their energies to healing and have some measure of protection. I do not know your country or situation, if they allow citizen helpers. But I think it could help. A lot depends on attitude. Some people are naturally careful and attentive to detail. Others are lazy and sloppy. A sloppy health worker doing good work, with an attentive watcher/helper/monitor might survive.

I think part of the reason for the rapid spread is that asymptomatic viral carriers show no signs. They can convey the virus because they look perfectly healthy. You probably know all this. I am not a medical doctor or worker. I am just relating what I have read as I try to track the global status. To model deaths and cases requires knowing the methods of transmission. I am recommending countries do random testing survey in regions that show not cases yet. Or neighborhoods that have no cases. If you find a few case in areas like that, you get an almost three week jump on it before it grows. If cases and deaths occur, then you are two to three weeks behind. And you have that many more infected to deal with.

Also, try to categorize your "positives' from testing. It is useless to say someone tested "positive" without categorizing their status - no symptoms, mild symptoms home treatment, medium symptoms treat and send home, serious symptoms hospital, serious ICU, deathly serious. I am making up terms here from all I have read.

It relates to your question about protecting workers. I do not know if I would go so far as to put red tags on the highly infectious positives or untested, but it might signal that workers and family need to take care. Bright yellow. Social signals might remind people who serious it is. You might already have that kind of system. Masks with red marks?

I am just throwing things out there to suggest things you already know. You can be courteous and caring and still not allow sloppiness or risk to others. Organize your helping staff.

I did a review of India yesterday, but have not had time to make a video yet. I need to work with regions inside India, but there are so many other countries too. I think that Covid is infecting many areas, incubating and growing, then only erupting when cases and deaths are discovered. It might be too late to test areas that have not been infected. Each country is hard, and I am trying to track them all.

I have also been trying to organize the data needed for the the protein modelling so more possibilities can be covered in a shorter time. I can usually speed things up ten fold with simple methods, but it wears me out. Most medical research groups and manufacturers are just seeing this as an opportunity for gain. Then others want to help and do not know what to do.

your question give a new direction of research in the field of daily or regular testing for corona patient contacted persons like (HCWs & Doctors)). For this, we have to study the basic and starting symptoms of Covid19 and now, every researcher know these symptoms.

On the basis of starting symptoms, we can discover the "pre-testing of covid19".

In my opinion, some testing may be used or discovered. which is given below

Above these tests may help to classified our HCWs to stop the corona virus. I am not medical expert but whatever i think, I just give suggestion.

Actually I am looking for a contact tracing proforma/checklist/criteria which helps to classify the HCWs who are the contacts of a positive patient, based on their contact and interaction with such a patient so that decision can be taken for further course of action regarding their quarantine and testing etc.

The World Health Organization has many good people working there, they just have a terrible website.

Chapter Coping with Mental Health Challenges During COVID-19

There are several ways to do it.

WHO does it as https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/risk-assessment-and-management-of-exposure-of-health-care-workers-in-the-context-of-covid-19-interim-guidance

CDC does it as https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/risk-assessment-and-management-of-exposure-of-health-care-workers-in-the-context-of-covid-19-interim-guidance

The basic principles are depending on the type of exposure (aerosol generating, close proximity etc ), and adherence to IPC of health care workers(what types of ppe, hand hygiene measures etc) - low risk or high risk is charted.

Dr Animesh has already given links of various guidelines.

Many institutes follow their own guidelines derived from the above for hcw exposure risk.

For example, AIIMS Delhi follows contact with a patient without a mask/PPE for 15 minutes with distance less than 1 metre.
