I hesitate a lot before raising the question just mentioned. As RG is mainly a scientific forum, it is natural that the concept of theory appears in many posts from many posters. But what are they the criteria of a scientific theory? I have some in my mind. Even so, as yet I don't want to mention them in order to avoid, for example, answers such as "I agree/disagree with the criteria you mention". What I expect from those who want to respond to the focal question is the following: (1) to give a name to each criteria, e.g., I believe that a scientific theory should meet the following criteria; (2) to write your answer in a clear, clean and parsimonious manner; and (3) to justify, in a clear, clean and parsimonious writing, why each of the criteria you mention is important to characterize a theory as scientific.

I thank you in advance for your responses to the focal question. Your answers will be welcome and much appreciated.
