What factors cause a blue shift in the absorbance edge in UV-Vis spectra of a nanoparticle other than reduction in particle size?
You can also find a good discussion here https://www.researchgate.net/post/What_are_important_aspects_in_Blue_shift_and_Red_shift_from_spectrum
It depend on what wavelength you are exciting. If you are exciting your sample with more energy than the band gap then Brustein moss effect can play some role. You can read about it. may be it will be of some help.
Thanks Aarti Sharma and Kunal Mondal for your nice clarification and code a link for clarifying my quires.,
Thank you once again
It depend on the size of the SC particals, In other words the size of particals size decreases
Thank you friends for your valuable reply :)
Some times your addition material acts as a reducing agent. It may decrease your particle size. That's why to got the blue shift.
what is reason for blue shifted in absorption spectra for thin films?

I personally feel this as a most confusing question. As per my understanding, if sample size is > 30, and sample is skewed, we can still use paramteric approach, as it will follow Z...
