As you can see there are two clear discontinuities in the F(R) vs Energy spectra which is surely not an effect intrinsic to the sample. Spectra was obtained in Diffuse reflectance mode using a Perkin-Elmer UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Sample is Bi0.8La0.2FeO3.
Thanks for the answer. If it is indeed a problem with the diffraction grating how can I find out ? What else could it be ?
I don't quite know the details of the spetrometer and it's settings. It's a PerkinElmer LAMBDA 1050 UV/Vis/NIR Spectrophotometer, and the data was obtained in diffuse reflectance mode. That's about all I can tell at this point. And please see the attached image of the original experimental data.

I also found that 'jump'/gap in my fluorescence EEM data and when I check light source spectra of the spectrofluorometer, and it is because of the internal filter of the spectrofluorometer that is used to eliminate the effect of higher order diffraction. Is there any method to correct that gap? The routine correction procedure could not correct that gap in my case. Thanks in advance.
