Quick commerece is interesting, the first connections that come to mind are 1) food delivery 2) fashion industry & digital tools. The food delivery constitutes a significant part of the quick commerece, so choice of companies and services for comparion, evaluating efficiency can be a research direction. It is also connected with the gig economy. Commerce is digitalised and new services such as virtual fitting rooms appear in the quickly changing fashion industry. In terms of India context, India's apparel market was sixth largest in the world in 2022, while food delivery topic can focus on local businesses or indian restaurants abroad.
Quick commerce, or Q-commerce, represents a rapidly evolving segment of e-commerce characterized by ultra-fast delivery, often within 10 to 30 minutes. Research in this domain could focus on last-mile delivery optimization, a critical factor in Q-commerce's success. Investigating advanced routing algorithms, integrating AI and machine learning for dynamic delivery scheduling, and leveraging IoT for real-time inventory and vehicle tracking could significantly improve efficiency. Additionally, researchers could explore the sustainability aspect of Q-commerce, such as optimizing delivery networks for reduced carbon emissions and evaluating the environmental impact of ultra-fast logistics models. This would include studying the trade-offs between convenience and ecological concerns and proposing eco-friendly innovations like e-bikes and consolidated delivery hubs.
Another promising research area lies in consumer behavior and market dynamics within Q-commerce. Studies could examine how the demand for instant delivery influences purchasing patterns and impacts traditional retail and slower e-commerce models. Researchers might also explore the psychological and socioeconomic factors driving customer preferences for Q-commerce and the implications for pricing strategies, brand loyalty, and customer retention. Furthermore, the technological aspect of developing smart fulfillment centers, automated packing systems, and predictive analytics for demand forecasting offers a fertile ground for innovation. These areas collectively contribute to understanding how Q-commerce can scale efficiently while addressing logistical challenges, consumer expectations, and sustainability concerns.
Félix Oscar Socorro Márquez, I also had last-mile delivery in mind when I was offering to focus on the food delivery. Sustainability also seems as an interesting addition with many sources. Consumer behavior and changes in demand is the most relevant topic in my opinion and the one I would prioritize. Hetal Kherala hopefully the discussion on research topics and its possibilities will be useful for your research.
It good topic. But academically not that good. What is your level of research.
The problem with students is they don't undergo intense literature survey. Otherwise they would have got many ideas and gaps . Most reputed authors mention research gaps in their papers in end and there is long list of papers and books in bibliography. You get specific idea. You may also contact companies like big basket, Zomato, otipy, already in quick commerce. Even amazon in several products gives overnight delivery. They will give you ideas of research problem they would like you to explore. Your guide should help you.
There are many ideas, logistic obstructions in quick commerce deliveries, exploring use of drones in last mile delivery and develop a cost effective model. Soon government is going to allow this. So what do you think about regulatory measures and infrastructure required.
many research questions can be framed. More difficult will be research design.
I cant give more guidance unless I know details of your research .Its level and purpose and your background. A good mentor is essential for good research. Bin guru gyan kahan se paun
one topic that can fit all levels of research but is strictly academic in nature come to my mind
Last-Mile Delivery Innovations: A Comparative Analysis of Q-commerce and Traditional Logistics Networks
or qualitative differences in Q commerce of fast food, groceries and medicines -A study of Ahmedabad /Guajrat suppliers
once choice is narrowed down do intense literature survey , meet local managers and discuss to get ideas and then go to research design. For gods sake don't prepare a 30 questions routine questionnaire right in beginning and start sample survey.
Quick commerce involves buying and selling on time to satisfy customers. It has chains of added value and many challenges. Research area could be on how to solve some of these challenges. For example;
