Deterministic case, i.e. under certainty: you have all necessary information (typically multicriterial decision making, e.g., choice of mobile phone based on its parameters). Probabilistic case, i.e. under risk: you know the possibilities which can occur in future together with their probabilities. But you don't know which one will occur.
