Nigeria' s subsistence farmers who constitute over 95% of farmers in the country contributing about 90% of farming produce are resource poor. They make hard decisions prior to use of new technologies of farm production knowing that failure of such practices will come with dire consequences. It is therefore expected that the farmers will want to use solutions to solve their basic farm problems that do not require much effort in terms of cost, energy and time. It is my belief that Lazy user theory could be used to provide the blueprint necessary impetus to boost agricultural production in the country

As I understand it, the lazy user mode (LUM)l has been proposed to explain the adoption of information technology by potential users. The model is based on the idea that users' choices depend on two variable: "need", in terms of the quality of the information needed (width, timeliness, depth, urgency), and "state" that characterizes the situation in which users find themselves when they have to make the choice. Users are assumed to choose to fulfill needs , given the circumstances of their state , with minimal effort. From an economic point of view, therefore, LUM is basically a cost effectiveness model. While it may be suggestive of probable user behavior under limited choices (for example how many devises or which devise to use to obtain information in a particular case), I am afraid it would not be very helpful to understand small farmers' technology adoption, beyond what a cost effectiveness or a satisfying model would do.
Yo sugeriria ,si es posible que se hiciese algun estudio de caso en el que se calculase las horas de trabajo empleadas.las personas que intervienen y la produccion,de esta forma se podria evaluar la eficiencia del trabajo y asi introducir elementos que ayuden a la mejora de la productividad agricola.
